Tapestries | Asphodel Meadow

Needle-felted landscapes and a couture-based soft sculpture reimagine the mythical, flower-filled realm ASPHODEL MEADOW. In Homeric tradition, the Asphodel Meadow was the resting place of ordinary souls—neither a paradise nor a place of punishment. Over time, it has been reinterpreted as a serene idyll. This series echoes this transformation, with flowing compositions of organic forms and exuberant colours evoking an endless cycle of seasonal change. For d’Angelino Tap, these works are a powerful reminder of the need for deeper reflection and connection with nature; an appeal, in his words, ‘to hold dear the natural world and existence itself—the very fabric we are woven into.’
