Peter George d’Angelino Tap is a Dutch designer and textile artist whose works span the visual and performing arts. At the heart of his artistic practice lies the exploration of the interplay between couture and tapestry. Rooted in the timeless storytelling tradition, he weaves together myths, legends and abstract concepts to create a textile vision of the human experience.
He is known for his Sartorial Statues—couture-based soft sculptures—and monumental hand needle-felted tapestries that highlight the interconnectedness of nature, life and storytelling, offering a deeply human perspective on the world once described by Thomas Carlyle as ‘a Living Garment, woven and ever-a-weaving in the Loom of Time’.
His couture attracts a wide client base that includes celebrities such as classical pianists Lucas and Arthur Jussen, pop singer Vangelis Polydorou, conductor Nicolas Collon, and TV presenter and author Splinter Chabot.
Peter George d’Angelino Tap lives and works in The Hague.
